One question a week for Mum or Dad
Mum and Dad have the best stories. The trouble is we hear the same three at every barbecue and never ask about the rest.
TaleOak keeps it simple. One question a week. You ask it, they talk, you save it.
1. Pick one question
Draw your card any day that week. Keep it to one. "What was your first job?" will get you further than a list of ten.
2. Ask it in person or on a call
Ask it over dinner, in the car, or on the phone. No set-up. Just ask and let them go.
3. Listen for the good bit
The first answer is usually short. Ask "then what?" once or twice. That's where the story is.
4. Save it the same day
Write down what Mum or Dad said, in their words if you can. Add a photo if there's one handy. Nothing counts until you press Save.
5. Let the family see it
Your brothers, sisters and partners can read it in your family house and chat about it. Mum's page and Dad's page grow from every story you keep, so you all learn the little things too: the song they sing in the car, the trip they still laugh about.
Start this week
One question, one answer, saved. Do it again next week. By the end of the year you'll have fifty stories you'd never heard before.
